Pharmaceutical name: Isotretinoin
Pack: 10 pills (10 mg)
The active component found in Isotroin capsules is Isotretinoin. Isotroin works by decreasing the production of oily substances (sebum) generated by the skin glands. Isotroin capsules (Isotretinoin) also help reduce bacteria, inflammation, and unclog blocked pores. Isotroin is used for treating severe nodular acne and is typically prescribed after other acne treatments or antibiotics have failed to alleviate the symptoms.
Isotroin is a derivative of vitamin A. It can also be prescribed for other skin conditions as decided by your physician, including: folliculitis, gram-negative (a bacterial skin infection on the face starting near the nose); hidradenitis suppurativa (a problem with sweat glands); rosacea (a facial skin disorder characterized by redness, usually on the nose and cheeks); and various skin disorders associated with thickened or patchy skin, such as keratosis follicularis, palmoplantar keratoderma, lamellar ichthyosis, or pityriasis rubra pilaris.
Patients taking Isotroin may experience side effects, which can include: allergic reactions like skin rash, itching, or hives; swelling of the face, lips, or tongue; breathing difficulties; alterations in menstrual cycles; changes in vision, such as blurred or double vision or reduced night vision; chest discomfort; depression; dizziness; fainting; hearing loss or tinnitus; hives; and skin rash.
